Club Iarmhí Golf Classic returns following Westmeath's Championship success

Following an outstanding year for Westmeath GAA, crowned by its memorable success in the 2026 GAA Championship, supporters and local businesses are being invited to continue backing the county's footballing future at the annual Club Iarmhí Golf Classic.

The fundraising event, organised by the Friends of Westmeath GAA and proudly sponsored by O'Brien's Motor Group, Mullingar, will take place on Friday, 14 August 2026, at the renowned Mullingar Championship Golf Club.

Open to GAA clubs, local businesses and golfing enthusiasts, the classic will be played in teams of four, with entry costing €400 per team. The fee includes a full round of golf, a goodie bag, a burger during the round, and a post-golf meal, ensuring an enjoyable day on and off the course.

Competitors will be vying for a prize fund worth €3,000, with 21 prizes on offer, including awards for the winning teams, nearest the pin on each of the four par-three holes, and special prizes for non-GUI members.

Local businesses also have the opportunity to support the event through tee box sponsorship, providing valuable exposure to players, supporters and visitors throughout the day while contributing to the continued development of Westmeath GAA.

Organisers are encouraging clubs, companies and groups of friends to enter a team and help build on the momentum created by Westmeath's championship triumph. The annual Golf Classic has become a key fixture in the county's sporting calendar, combining competitive golf with community spirit while raising vital funds to support the continued success of Westmeath GAA.
