Ringtown GAA U8s kitted out in style thanks to generous local sponsorship

Ringtown GAA Club are celebrating a milestone for the U8 hurlers, whose numbers have grown from a handful to a squad of 14 over the last 12 months, thanks to commitment of underage volunteer Emmett Corrigan and coach Simon Martin.

That work has been marked in style with a special gear presentation, as local sponsor John Moran of Advanced Safety School of Motoring kitted out all 14 boys with new shorts, jerseys, socks and half-zip tops.

The boys proudly displayed their new Ringtown colours for photographs, and received huge cheers on the day.

Delighted parents, club underage chairperson Frank Gorman and underage secretary Suzanne McEvoy attended the presentation.

Speaking at the event, Frank praised the dedication and effort shown by Emmett Corrigan in securing sponsorship and in building the numbers in the U8 group over the year.

He also paid tribute to coach Simon Martin, whose rapport with the young players has ensured they love every minute of their hurling.

Suzanne McEvoy made special mention of sponsor John Moran, whose generosity meant so much to the boys and their families. “Without John, this simply wouldn’t have happened,” she said. “It was a special day, full of pride and smiles.”

Well done to all, including the boys; there are some fine young hurlers coming through in and around Ringtown.
