Alzheimer Memory Walk at Belvedere on September 20
Westmeath will again host an Alzheimer Memory Walk event this year as part of the nationwide event taking place on Sunday September 20 ahead of World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21.
The Westmeath event is at Belvedere House, meeting at visitor centre before 12 noon for a choice of 1.5km or 3km routes, depending on personal preference.
Now in its seventh year, the Alzheimer Memory Walk supported by Aviva is a celebration of connection, compassion, and community as well as a fundraiser.
In 2025, almost 3,000 walkers took part in in teh event, which is supported by Aviva, and raised more than €240,000 to help fund ASI services including daycare, family carer training, social clubs, dementia cafés and the national helpline.
Leanne Taitt, manager of The ASI’s Athlone Day Service, will lead the Westmeath Memory Walk this year.
