‘DisrupTech on Tour’ brings €40m million DTIF opportunity to Mullingar

Companies and research organisations across the midlands will soon have the opportunity to compete for a share of €40 million in the next round of the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF).

A free ‘DisrupTech on Tour’ event, designed to help companies and research organisations understand and navigate the DTIF application process and connect with potential partners, takes place at the Mullingar Park Hotel on October 13 (8.30am-4pm).

Declan McGee, DTIF Team at Enterprise Ireland, said: “Breakthrough innovation is a team effort. It happens when ambitious companies, world-class researchers and the right funding come together, and DisrupTech on Tour is designed to help make those connections.

“The event will give companies and researchers an opportunity to meet potential partners, explore collaborative project ideas and get fully up to speed on DTIF before the call for applications opens.”

Since 2018, through the Dept of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, DTIF has approved more than €530 million in funding for some 130 collaborative projects involving almost 500 organisations.

The fund is open to Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and Údarás na Gaeltachta client companies, as well as research-performing organisations. To apply, organisations work together in a consortium of at least three independent partners, including at least two companies (one of which must be an SME), and seek a minimum of €1.5 million in funding over three years. Applications will close on February 3, 2027.

DisrupTech on Tour attendees in Mullingar will receive:

• An overview of the €40 million funding available through DTIF

• Guidance on eligibility criteria and the application process

• Insights into what makes a strong DTIF project and consortium

• Lessons learned directly from previous participants

• Opportunities to connect with project partners through a dedicated collaboration hub

• Information on other national funding and collaboration supports for research, development and innovation

• An opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the region’s innovation ecosystem and research expertise through a visit to the Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) centre in Mullingar.

DTIF is an Irish government fund managed by the Dept of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment (DETE), operated and administered by Enterprise Ireland.
