Support brewing for Coffee Morning for Hospice

The volunteers at North Westmeath Hospice are on the streets as the 34th edition of the ‘Coffee Morning for Hospice’, is under way.

The Market Square in Mullingar is the place to be for good coffee, tea and hot chocolate as the public show how important this service is.

Margaret Claffey, chairperson, spoke of the importance of the annual event: "This is the 34th annual Coffee Morning for Hospice. We run it at the North Westmeath Hospice House, and our usual one here on the Market Square."

Margaret says the day is an opportunity for people to get a tasty treat and support a good cause: "We have all sorts of goodies. People come, take a coffee and they give a donation."

The North Westmeath Hospice chair spoke of the public support: "The people in Mullingar and the surrounds are very, very generous. They come here every year and they give huge donations. All money raised locally stays local for our local hospice."

Margaret says the coffee morning always gets a good crowd: "It's the best charity to be involved with because people are so loyal to it."
