Ms Flynn, principal, welcomes Caoilfhinn to St Mary’s NS.St Mary’s National School and Parents Association in Collinstown were delighted to welcome the 2026 International Rose of Tralee, Caoilfhinn Ní Choiligh, on Monday September 21, for a very special visit.
Ms Flynn, principal of St Mary’s NS, warmly welcomed Caoilfhinn on what was her first school engagement.
Caoilfhinn spent time chatting with the children about the importance of being comfortable in who we are, being proud of ourselves, and embracing what makes each of us unique. Her positivity and warmth made a wonderful impression on everyone.
Ms Sheridan and staff and students entertained Caoilfhinn with some beautiful songs, while the sixth class students played the tin whistle.
There was also a lovely question-and-answer session, which generated lots of wonderful queries; from why Caoilfhinn entered the Rose of Tralee to all about her pets.
The girls of St Mary’s were particularly fascinated by Caoilfhinn’s beautiful dresses and even promised to exchange some.
It was an uplifting afternoon filled with music, positivity, laughter and plenty of smiles.
St Mary’s NS and Parents Association extend their heartfelt thanks to Caoilfhinn and to Lynn and Suzan from the Rose of Tralee office, for helping to make the visit possible.
It was wonderful to welcome the 2026 International Rose of Tralee to Collinstown and it was a day the children will remember fondly.
