Westmeath gardaí to host property marking day at Ringtown GAA

Westmeath Garda Síochána invite members of the public to attend a property marking day at Ringtown GAA on Sunday, October 25, from 10am to 1pm.

The initiative aims to help protect homes and property by encouraging people to take practical steps to deter theft and assist in the recovery of stolen items.

Property marking involves identifying belongings in a way that can help gardaí trace them back to their rightful owners if they are stolen and subsequently recovered. Items such as bicycles, tools and other valuable possessions can benefit from suitable identification.

The event provides an opportunity for local residents to learn more about property security and how simple preventative measures can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of theft.

Residents are encouraged to attend Ringtown GAA during the three-hour event and engage with gardaí on ways to safeguard their belongings.

Community-based initiatives such as this also help strengthen the relationship between gardaí and local communities, promoting awareness and cooperation in tackling crime.

Westmeath gardaí hope the event will encourage people to take a proactive approach to protecting their property and improving security throughout the local area.

This free event is sponsored by Westmeath Public Participation Network for the benefit of all PPN member groups and community groups across the county.
