Mullingar business hosts Breast Cancer awareness event
The N91 Pilates group ran a Breast Cancer awareness event last Sunday, October 18. The event was organised as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed internationally each October to promote awareness, encourage early detection and screening, and show support for patients and their families.
Pilates N91 is a women-owned Reformer Pilates and wellness studio located in Bellview Building, Dublin Road, Petitswood, Mullingar.
Marie O’Toole, chairperson of the Mullingar Pink Ribbon committee, gave a short talk at the event. The morning was an opportunity for the local community to come together for information on breast cancer.
Next Friday (October 23) a special Pink Ribbon Coffee Morning will take place at Mullingar Rugby Club in support of the Irish Cancer Society and its work with people affected by breast cancer.
Visitors can enjoy tea and coffee alongside homemade baked goods and jams for sale. There will also be a raffle featuring hampers and vouchers, with this year’s Rose of Tralee, Caoilfhinn Ní Choiligh, attending as special guest.
Last year’s coffee morning for the Irish Cancer Society was very successful, and organisers are hoping for another strong turnout this year.
The organisers are inviting people from Mullingar and the wider Westmeath community to attend the coffee morning and help build on last year’s fundraising success.
The event is open to all, with proceeds going towards supporting the Irish Cancer Society’s work.
