Mullingar Musical Society delivers a recipe for theatrical mayhem with The Producers

Mullingar Musical Society is bringing a generous helping of outrageous comedy, larger-than-life characters and toe-tapping musical numbers to the stage with its production of Mel Brooks’ Broadway smash-hit The Producers.

A firm favourite among musical comedy fans, The Producers follows the misadventures of Max Bialystock, a down-on-his-luck theatrical producer, and Leo Bloom, a timid accountant with dreams of a more exciting life. Together, the unlikely pair hatch an audacious scheme to make a fortune by deliberately producing the biggest flop Broadway has ever seen.

Their plan appears foolproof, but the execution may not be so easy.

With its combination of catchy music, farcical storytelling and unapologetically outrageous comedy, Mullingar Musical Society’s presentation promises an entertaining theatrical outing for audiences who enjoy their musical theatre with a healthy dose of irreverence and plenty of laughs.

The show opened last night (Wednesday, October 21) and continues tonight (Thursday), Friday and Saturday with doors at 8.00pm.
