U6 Killucan Ninjas enjoy Halloween disco and jersey presentation
What a fantastic night the U6 Killucan Ninjas had on Friday as they celebrated Halloween with a disco and a special jersey presentation.
Thanks to their sponsors, all children received their own new jerseys, along with medals, certificates and goody bags. The smiles on their faces said it all.
They were delighted to welcome a special guest, Chase from Paw Patrol, and to have the Delaney Cup present for the evening, and also to have the Killucan LGFA Senior B County Champions with their cup, to present the jerseys, medals and goody bags.
Since inception, the Ninja group have grown year after year, and more than 60 boys and girls are registered this year.
They are a fantastic bunch, say their mentors, and the joy, enthusiasm and laughter they bring every week are infectious.
It’s wonderful to see so many young children enjoying being part of the club from such an early age.
Chairperson Derek Heffernan said: “In Killucan GAA, we had four underage teams and one adult team reaching finals this year, it is clear to see the journey and opportunities that lie ahead for these children.
“The Ninjas are at the beginning of that journey. For some, it may lead to representing us at senior level; for others, it may mean becoming lifelong supporters, coaches, committee members or even sponsors of the future.
“That is what club life is all about – creating a sense of belonging, building friendships and giving children a place to grow, enjoy themselves and be part of something special. The longer we can keep these children involved and connected to our club, the better it is for everyone.”
Killucan GAA and LGFA wish to thank you their sponsors, whose generosity made the new jerseys possible: P&I Contracts; Conor Boyle Plant and Construction; ABM Contracts; Dirty Paw Dog Grooming, Killucan.
“We are so grateful for your continued support of our young players and our club.
“A huge thank you also to our coaches, led by Edel Boyle and Kevin Ayres, for all their dedication, time and hard work, and to the parents for bringing the children down week after week and supporting them every step of the way.
“It takes a village to build a club, and nights like Friday remind us just how special our Killucan community is.
“Up the Ninjas!”
