Mullingar band on Late Late line-up tonight with Shane MacGowan

Mullingar based band Cronin join a host of stars on screen tonight as RTE's Late Late Show celebrates the life and work of Shane MacGowan.

The legendary singer will perform a number of his best-known songs including a special rendition of Fairytale Of New York.

Cronin - Johnny Cronin, Mick Cronin, Fiachra Milner and Brian Murphy - join the likes of Glen Hansard, Aidan Gillen, Patrick Bergin, Moya Brennan, Philomena Begley and Pat McCabe to pay tribute to the Rainy Night in Soho singer.

Shane and his wife Victoria Mary Clarke will discuss the writing of some of his best-known songs and the impact he and The Pogues have had on the Irish music industry.

Shane's sister Siobhan MacGowan, a journalist and musician, will also be chatting with Ryan, while some very well-known friends of Shane have also sent a series of video messages to him, congratulating him on his special night.
