So I set out to form an all live band that would keep the passion and integrity of Cash's music alive,” he explained.“I then met an acquaintance in Ballivor earlier this year, whom I knew was a most accomplished musician, and asked him would he team up to form a Cash tribute band, and thankfully he agreed!” says Paul. That was none other than Marc Oliver, a student of College of Music in Dublin, who appeared with Marty Kane on New Faces some years back. His album, “You live and learn” was the soundtrack to the award winning short film “What if”. Marc who has spent a lifetime in the music business rounded up drummer Dave McCune. Dave, is also an accomplished music producer, who produced Joe Dolan's last three albums and half turkey/half chicken Dustin's last album!Big Bass player Simon Farrell, who plays with many bands including Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club, was recruited to round up American Cash. And Completing the six piece band, we have husband and wife duo Denis and Alison Rusk who provide rhythm guitar and backing vocals. The result is an all live, raw, powerful and fitting tribute act to one of Country Music's true legends.“We keep the sound, look and feel as close to the real thing as possible. We perform all the main hits from the mid 50's right through to some of Cash's last recordings,” says Paul.So if your favourite Cash song is “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Ring of Fire”, “A boy named Sue” or “Hurt”, and you want to hear it performed live, then this is the show for you!American Cash appear in the Mullingar Park Hotel this Saturday night, November 20.Tickets are priced at a recession busting €15, and are available at the Mullingar Park Hotel in advance or on the night.
