Jane McNamee is one of the hottest new singers to come out of Ireland in recent years.Mixed within her vocal range are hints of other elements that have influenced her over the years including folk, Jazz, bluegrass and country.Jane is a singer who stretches the genre boundaries. She does one original tune on her new Album, "The Curragh Wrens," written by her producer Vinny Baker and his co-writer Danny Slevin. But this is not universally a melancholy album, just simply music tinged with wistfulness, sweetness and memories. Jane brings a lot to the table, and the result is a satisfying feast.'Acoustically Yours' showcases Jane's captivating singing voice as she performs classic standards and little-known melodies, blended with elements of blues and country, and even adding bluegrass arrangements to material from other genres.Gifted with a strong, rich, and soulful voice, it is said this sultry Edenderry native can move the soul of the audience with her emotional energy and angelic-like presence.There is something truly spectacular about this young woman, and while doing what she loves most, making beautiful music, Jane found she shared a musical connection with her producer Vinny Baker.After rehearsing together and forming a great musical bond, Jane and guitarist Vinny were joined in a quest based on their mutual love for folk, Bluegrass and Jazz.The two set about listing their favorite songs from the various genres and found that they had many in common.A whirlwind adventure in the studio resulted in 15 spectacular tracks.Inspire they did, with the album shooting to number five in the independent charts.On this, her first disc, Jane chooses a handful of songs new and old, but mostly folk, Jazz, country and bluegrass repertoire, like "Ghost in this House" "I Will" by Lennon and McCartney, "Only You" , as well as others.Definitely on her way up!
