New motocross track for Rochfortbridge

A motocross track consisting of two high jumps and six rolling wave jumps has been granted planning permission for construction in Rochfortbridge and is expected to be up and running by January 2012, employing up to 15 part-time staff, it emerged this week.The brainchild of Karl Brady from Tyrrellspass, the non-fixed race track, which will be built on Bord na Mona ground, has taken three years to go through the planning process, needing the green light from both Westmeath and Offaly county councils, as the entrance lies just inside the Offaly border, while the track itself is on Westmeath ground in Derryarkin, Rochfortbridge.More in this week's paper...
