Mullingar Town Band get back to action on hurling final day

Mullingar Town Band were delighted back in action on Sunday (November 7) for a performance at the Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship final, where they received a warm welcome from the county GAA committee and match spectators as they marched on to the pitch to perform and play the national anthem.

The band will be out again for the Senior Football Championship final on Sunday next, November 14.

Community Adult Concert Band

Mullingar Town Band are holding the first rehearsal of the new Community Adult Concert Band this Wednesday evening at Bandhall.

This group will meet once a month on Wednesday evenings under the baton of conductor John Walsh.

Thirty new and returning members have already signed up to take part.

Group members are of mixed musical ability and varying standards, starting from advanced beginners (approx Grade 2).

The intention is to cater for those who have not played their instruments in a long time (in some cases, more than 20 years), to those who are not long learning their instrument, as well as those who play regularly.
