Recruitment for HSE posts is ongoing

An outline of measures to recruit staff for HSE posts was given to Westmeath Green Party councillor Hazel Smyth at the December monthly meeting of the Regional Health Forum, held online on Thursday last.

Martina O’Byrne, head of HR, Midlands Louth Meath Community Health Organisation, replied to Cllr Smyth’s query on what efforts are being made to address HSE recruitment issues by stating that it is actively engaging with local and national recruitment initiatives, to ensure the use of all potential and available opportunities to address current and future staffing needs.

“This has included the use of joint campaigns will Acute colleagues to assist the immediate needs arising on an ongoing basis currently with particular reference to older persons’ services, while also progressing local campaigns for other grade priorities,” Ms O’Byrne’s reply stated.

As with all service needs there is ongoing examination of recruitment, to ensure active campaigns align to the high priority service needs.
