Delvin shop's €26k lottery winner

A lottery player who bought their ticket at Leavy’s shop at Main Street in Delvin is starting into the new year €26,380 the richer, after they matched five numbers in the New Year’s Day draw.

Another winner bought their ticket at Oldcastle post office in Meath.

Normally the Match 5 prize is not so large – but as the jackpot was capped at €19.06m after rolling over for several weeks, the funds that would usually be added to the jackpot were instead divided among the 28 players who matched five numbers.

The 28 winners were drawn from 12 counties, and the ticket bought in Leavy’s was the only Westmeath-bought ticket to feature among the winners.

The National Lottery is appealing to players to check their tickets carefully and is advising all who matched five numbers to sign the back of their tickets and to keep them safe.

Each of the winners should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prizes.
