Mullingar Tidy Towns donate trees for local courthouse
Mullingar Tidy Towns have given something back to the Court Service in gratitude for the grants they have received from Court Poor Box fund.
On Friday last, January, 28, members of Tidy Towns visited Mullingar Court House and met the facility manager Rodney Martin and caretaker Alan Graham.
Each year, Mullingar Tidy Towns, like a lot of other community groups in Mullingar, receive funding from the Court Poor Box, which chairperson Bill Collentine said is “helpful in helping us run some of our operations at Mullingar Tidy Towns”.
In appreciation of the funding, it was agreed that Mullingar Tidy Towns would donate two new birch trees, which are being planted at the front lawn for the courthouse as a symbol of a new friendship, which, like the new trees, will grow with each year, also showing Mullingar Tidy Towns and Mullingar Courthouse are helping with to reduce the carbon footprint in the town.
