Young woman assaulted in night spot

Gardaí have launched an investigation after a young woman was reportedly assaulted in a Mullingar night spot at the weekend.

The physical assault happened on Friday night/Saturday morning. Gardaí say that investigating officers have examined CCTV and inquiries are ongoing.

Burglary

Mullingar Gardaí say they are following a definite line of inquiry following an attempted burglary in the Ardleigh estate on Thursday night last.

At around 9pm a male was disturbed as he tried to gain entry to a house in Ardleigh Crescent.

Drugs seizure

Cocaine with an estimated street value of €1,000 was seized following the search of a Mullingar premises last week. One person was arrested in connection with the seizure and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
