Singer’s Christmas gesture hit the right note

Some people spend Christmas Eve doing last-minute shopping or gift-wrapping, but Noel O’Farrell opted instead to provide live musical entertainment for the people of Mullingar.

The musician and broadcaster performed dozens of Christmas favourites all afternoon from the balcony of Canton Casey’s, really adding to the festive atmosphere.

Before undertaking the endeavour, Noel decided that it would also be an opportunity to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society, and he received funding assistance from Westmeath County Council’s arts office.

As a result of Noel’s act of Christmas goodwill and the generosity of Mullingar, the Alzheimer Society last week was presented with a cheque for €1,100.
