Put defibrillators at every garda station - Dolan

Defibrillators should be provided at all garda stations, said Cllr John Dolan, whose “life was saved” by one.

He was addressing a Westmeath Joint Policing Committee meeting on Monday, where he said that gardaí are first responders and garda stations were obvious placse for defibrillators , but there is none at the Athlone Garda Station.

Cllr Dolan said he had raised the matter with Minister for Justice Helen McEntee at an event recently and he would be pushing to have it rolled out nationally.

There was unanimous agreement to the call at the meeting.
