Mullingar young film maker has two films selected for fresh film festival

Two films by young filmmaker Aoife Hynes from Mullingar have been selected for screening at a regional heat of Fresh Film Festival 2015 at The Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin on Wednesday March 4.

"Ryan” and “The Compound (Episode Two)”, both by Aoife Hynes, will be screened as part of Fresh Film Festival, now in its 19th year.

The festival provides an opportunity for these young filmmakers to have their work seen on a cinema screen for the first time and to compete for the title of Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year.

All films submitted are also considered for a range of Specialist Awards including the Radharc Trust Award (documentary), the Brownbag Animation Award, the RTÉ 60 Second Short Film Award and the RTÉ Factual Award, in addition to the International and Audience awards.

These screenings are open to the public, but space is very limited, so advance booking through the Fresh Film Festival office is essential: (061) 319555/ info@freshfilmfestival.net

Films shortlisted for the final will be announced at the conclusion of each regional heat and will be screened at Fresh Film Festival 2015 in Limerick from 23-28 March.

Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year Awards will be presented on the 25th and 26th of March.
