The lates Margaret Cleary

The sudden and unexpected death of Margaret Cleary at her home in Coralstown on March 6th has caused widespread sorrow and regret.Margaret (77), was wife of the late Jimmy, who died in 2006.A native of The Downs, and the eldest of four children, she was predeceased by her sisters Eileen and Mary.Margaret settled in Coralstown in the 1950s and together with her husband Jimmy they raised a family of nine children.Extremely devout, Margaret attended Mass regularly, both in in her local church and the Church of the Camillian Fathers in Killucan.She loved gardening and spent many an afternoon in either her own garden, which gave her great pleasure, or going to visit garden centres.She was a former member of Killucan I.C.A. and also Coralstown Altar Society.During her later years she was a member of the Golden Years Club in Killucan/Raharney.She enjoyed attending the club and had only been there on the Wednesday prior to her sudden passing.Mrs. Cleary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Margaret is survived by her sons Tom, Camillus and Christy; by her daughters Breda, Eileen, Geraldine, Mairead, Deirdre, and Patricia, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law and grandchildren.She is also survived by her sister Patricia Silke (Galway), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends.After reposing at her residence Margaret was removed to St. Agnes Church Coralstown on Mon 8th of March.Her remains were greeted by Fr.Tom Gilroy P.P., Kinnegad, Fr. Richard Matthews, P.P., Killucan, and her cousin, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Willie Cleary, Pastor Emeritus, Mornington.The late Mrs. Cleary's funeral Mass was concelebrated by Msgr. Cleary with Fr. Gilroy and also, Fr. Declan Smyth, P.P. Taughmon, following which the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.As evidence of her popularity and the esteem in which she was held, large crowds attended both thr removal and the funeral Mass.
