The community of Ballymore again showed their strength on Saturday, when more than 600 people showed up at 3.45am to volunteer and walk the 5km to the GAA park and back from Darkness Into Light.
The funds raised for Pieta House have tipped €10,000. It is an amazing for a small village – well done to everyone involved, and a special note to the remembrance for Alan McLoughlin and his family and friends who acknowledged Alan by lighting candles along the route and releasing a sky lantern up as a symbol of hope.
The organisers offered a huge thanks to the generosity of people for the donations and the refreshments from local businesses.
