Exciting climax to Make Over League at Equestrian Centre
The Ashe Equestrian County Make over league came to an exciting climax on Saturday last when 14 riders from seven counties competed in the metre final over a fair but challenging course set by course builder, Noel lambert. Our two local representatives. Mary Flynn and Carla Farrell jumped extremely well and were two of the top five riders that qualified for the clock round.Mary was unlucky to roll a pole on fence six to finish on four faults but with the second fastest time of the day. A clear round for Carla was good enough for second place.The eventual winner was Patricia Foley from Oldcastle ridiing Supreme of Ballyglass. Well done to everyone who took part in the league final on Saturday it was a fantastic end to a very successful spring league.Sunday was another busy day of show jumping when the final interschools event of the year took place. With several teams travelling from Newbridge College, Athenry as well as the usual local schools it was Loreto College, Mullingar who took the honours and went home very happy after been out of the ribbons all year.
