The late Christopher Fenlon

There was much sadness and regret in the Delvin area on Sunday of last week, November 15, when news emerged of the sudden death of Christopher Fenlon, Balrath North, Delvin.Christopher, in his 73rd year, was a native of Ballybrittas, Co. Laois, and came to Delvin many years ago, where he set up his business as a plant hire operator.Described by his family as a hard worker and a very active person, Christopher was also an Irish dancing enthusiast, who loved travelling to céilís in Co. Cavan.He is survived by his family Marie, Declan, Brian, Fergus, Lonan and David, brothers, sister, daughters in law, grandchildren, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.Christopher was removed from the St. Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan on Tuesday of last week, with Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul celebrated by Fr. Seamus Heaney, at the Church of St. Livinus, Killulagh on the following (Wednesday) morning.He was then laid to rest in Killulagh Cemetery.Donations, if desired, may be made to the Irish Heart Foundation Centre, c/o Gaffney's Undertakers, Delvin.
