New Forest played against Mount Temple Golf Club in the second round. This was a very hard fought encounter. New Forest started very poorly and at the half way stage we were only up in two matches. Things were not going well at all. However, on the back 9 we started to play some excellent golf and managed to turn around two more matches with John Casey winning his match on the 19th and Derek Gallagher winning his on the 15th, both in Mount Temple. Seamus Lynam closed out his match also on the 15th in New Forest, with Greg Balfe winning the deciding match on the 18th hole at home. The team was; Don Gibney, Jim Davis, Seamus Lynam, Greg Balfe, John Casey, Derek Gallagher and Philip D"Alton. Eunan Duignan (Manager) and the Club, would like to congratulate the team, and thank them, and the panel, for their time and dedication. Well done !FBD Barton Cup 2009 (Fourth Round)New Forest played against Moate in the last 16 of the Barton Cup and as we expected, it proved to be an epic sporting battle with three of the five games going to the 18th hole and beyond. There was a great effort from our away team which saw us winning two games in Moate and the other game level on the 20th. We won one game at home on the 19th, leaving New Forest winning the match well by 3 1/2 to 1 1/2. We are now in the last 8, and our next match has yet to be confirmed.
