Local attractions and hotels receive TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards

A host of Westmeath attractions are among the top 10 percent tourist destinations in the world.

The Old Kilbeggan Distillery, the Hill of Uisneach, Tullynally Castle in Castlepollard, and Mollie Moos Pet Farm in Mullingar are among the local attractions that have received a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards Award for 2024. The annual awards are presented to accommodations, attractions, and restaurants that consistently earn outstanding reviews from travellers, placing them in the top 10 per cent rated destinations on TripAdvisor, globally.

Other Westmeath attractions to receive a Travellers' Choice Award for 2024, include Sean's Bar in Athlone, Ireland's oldest bar, and Athlone Castle.

Eight local hotels have also received an award, including The Greville Arms, and the Annebrook House Hotel in Mullingar, and the Castle Varagh Hotel in Castlepollard.

Una Doris of Visit Westmeath said that more and more people are beginning to learn about the many tourist attractions and high quality accommodation available in the county.

It is wonderful to see so many of our local attractions being recognised with TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, along with eight of our hotels.
