It"s all arrogance and charm with Floyd Soul and the Wolf

Winners of the National Student Music Awards 2008, Waterford band Floyd Soul & The Wolf, play rock and roll stripped back to the basics. They"ve got stomping bass lines, and harmonies that hit you like a cannonball - not to mention a frontman that can mesmerise a crowd with equal parts arrogance and charm.

Citing influences from The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Springsteen and AC/DC, they are proud to carry on the tradition of pure-bred rock and roll. Since winning The National Student Music Awards in May, they have released debut single Give It A Chance to widespread acclaim.

Furthermore, about their live shows Hotpress Magazine say 'Floyd Soul & The Wolf play as if all our very lives depended on it, and when was the last time you could say that about any Irish band?'

With Floyd Soul - Vocals, guitar and harp, Deano Moran - Guitar, vocals and vibes, Simon Merriman - Bass, vocals and percussion, Ciaran Delaney - Drums, vocals and spice.

Support on the night will be by another Waterford band, Gorbachov who proclaim, since the beginning, 'these feckless halfwits have always done it the hard way, but if you like rock, you will like the "Chov!'

Gorbachov are Brendan Feeney (vocals), Brain Casey (Guitar and Vocals), Ian Fleming (Lead Guitar), Bobby Comerford (Bass) and Alan Hennessy (Drums).

Special guests are Tornado Lovely who are no strangers to this venue. Be sure to catch them all in the Stables, Mullingar on Friday, August 15.
