Enhancement of Mullingar Town Centre Civic Areas
Statement from Mullingar Town Team
Mullingar Town Team has been in contact with Westmeath County Council in order to ascertain the relevant information in respect of the commencement of the forthcoming building works in Mullingar Town Centre.
It is our understanding that the following is the most up to date situation:
• The contractors are in situation in Mullingar and are currently setting up their base.
• We expect that the actual work will commence within the next two weeks.
• Westmeath County Council plan to host a public meeting this week to present the schedule of works. See details below.
• If you cannot attend this meeting and have any questions that you would like us to raise at this meeting, please reply immediately by return email.

Westmeath County Council wish to invite all stakeholders to attend an information open day regarding the imminent commencement of construction works on the project to enhance civic areas in Mullingar Town Centre.
This information open day will be held in Áras an Chontae, County Buildings, Mount Street, Mullingar, between 2pm and 6.30pm on Thursday August 23.

Obviously, it is important that this Civic Enhancement project will bring new business opportunities and greater footfall numbers to Mullingar.
However, we are conscious that any disruption during the period of the project may cause problems for customers, business owners and managers of local retail and services, delivery drivers, taxi drivers and residents.
To this end we intend to work closely with Westmeath County Council in order to inform you how the roll out of the project will affect you.
It is our understanding that Westmeath County Council wish to include local businesses and residents in the process, and they will make every effort to keep us informed in real time.
