The Christmas spirit is really getting going this weekend - here are details on some of the local events

This weekend, there are loads of activities for everyone in the family – from Christmas markets to festive concerts, everything you need to get into the holiday spirit!

 

Friday November 30

Until January 6, Mullingar on Ice contines in the town park.

Experience the wonders of Christmas in the comfort of the local park, a great way to keep everybody occupied and happy for the day.

Clonmellon Community Council annual Christmas Fair, 5-8pm, in the local community centre, is a great opportunity to bag the Christmas presents from all the family before the hustle and bustle of the height of the Christmas shopping season.


Saturday December 1

The annual Food and Design Winter Fair Belvedere House and Gardens opens at 10am and runs till 5.30pm on Saturday and again on Sunday. Here’s another opportunity to purchase some winter goodies to help get the house and everyone in it into Christmas spirit!

The Holly King arrives in Fore at 11am, and his grove is open from noon to 5pm. It's open the same hours on Sunday, and again each weekend till Christmas.

Also on both days this weekend is St Michael’s Christmas Fair at Tullynally Castle, from 11am. 

On Saturday evening, there is a Christmas Concert by Virginia Gospel Choir in St John’s Church, Clonmellon (8pm). It’s an event that will without a doubt have your whole family singing the praises of Christmas. Music to your ears!


Sunday December 2

As well as the events listed above that continue on Sunday, there are loads of Christmas markets around the region.

The Brownstown Community Centre Christmas Market is on from 11am to 4pm. An excellent day for all the family to browse through Christmas goodies for a great cause.

The Scoil Chroí Naofa Parents Association Christmas Fair is at Rochfortbridge Parish Hall, from 11.30am to 3pm. Another wonderful chance to spread the Christmas cheer within your family for a good cause!

The Christmas bric-a-brac sale in aid of parish funds is at Loughnavalley Hall from 11.30am. A great chance to choose from a variety of Christmas treats to bring the spirit of Christmas into your homes and decorate the house with joy!

The Edmonton NS Christmas Market is in Killucan GAA Hall from noon to 4pm. A wide range of Christmas trinkets that’ll bring a smile to anyone’s face . A great way to be prepared and relieved of stress this Christmas for a splendid cause! 

St Kenny NS host their Christmas market between noon and 5pm. Santa will be there in his grotto, and there will be a Christmas cafe, a BBQ, a Tombola bottle stall, facepainting, and more...

Mullingar Choral Society hold their Christmas Festival at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 7pm.
