Westmeath County Matters is looking for TV talent in this area

The producers of County Matters on IrishTV are looking for presenting talent and they want you to view their programme on Tuesdays to see if you would like to be involved.

County Matters is a new local TV series being broadcast on IrishTV.ie, Sky 191 and Freesat 400, to provide a weekly insight into the county. Every county in Ireland possesses a distinct personality and County Matters will embrace this rich diversity and show the vibrancy and vitality of communities nationwide.

The team of reporters will crisscross the parishes and villages of the country showing the best of Ireland, from its idyllic locations to its producers and emerging businesses, sports clubs, personalities, community events and initiatives that make up the tapestry of each county.

Each programme will include features from within the county, focusing on areas such as; business, sport, tourism, agriculture, arts and culture and entertainment.

County Matters will also feature key interviews from leading voices within each county, keeping you informed with everything that’s happening on the ground within local politics and county developments.

The weekly programme is also a place to showcase emerging talent to a large audience and offer a platform to advertise upcoming events along with coverage of important county successes and homecomings.

Show One of Westmeath County Matters is being broadcast on Tuesday May 27 and contains a story on Athlone Castle’s new exhibition space, a feature on the Westmeath Examiner, a glimpse of Moate, a feature on Athlone’s Little Museum and there is music from the oldest pub in Ireland, if not the world, Sean’s Bar.

The producer of Westmeath County Matters is Athlone based Martin Devaney, whose credits include RTÉ and the BBC. He is thrilled to be working on a show that will air at 8pm every Tuesday.

Martin is interested in meeting people from the county who would like to work on the show, perhaps as part of the crew or as presenters. He also wants to hear from you if you have a story to tell or a feature that you feel would suit a television audience that comprises people around Ireland, the UK, Australia and the USA.

He says that it is essential that people should watch a show or two before making contact. Get in touch with Martin at westmeath@irishtv.ie.
