Final Mass for Fr Joseph before return to India

The popular Fr Joseph Naikarakudy, who spent seven years working in Mullingar parish , is returning to his native India.

To say farewell, a special Mass and celebrating are to take place on Saturday February 15.

Fr Naikarakudy, a member of the Camillian Order, served at the Cathedral from 2012 until the end of December.

A native of Kerala in India, Fr Naikarakudy is believed to be the first foreign priest ever appointed to a permanent role in the Meath diocese.

Recalled by his community, Fr Naikarakudy is returning to India in February.

He will, however, celebrate Mass at the Cathedral at 6pm on Saturday February 15, following which there will be refreshments served in the parish community centre.
