Robyn secures place on Irish team for Euros

What a few months it has been for talented Ballynacargy boxer Robyn Kelly, winning a gold medal in the Winterbox Cup in England followed by winning gold in Germany in the round robin tournament, and last week winning her Cadet Championship and a place on the Irish team for the European Championships in Georgia in July.

This is Robyn’s third European Championship, and she will be looking forward to bringing home gold this time around after claiming bronze in Bulgaria in 2018 and bronze in Romania in 2019.

There are a tough few months ahead for Robyn, in which she will join up with the Irish team for training camps etc to prepare for Georgia. Her dad and coach Camillus Kelly, along with Gordon Ward, are very proud of Robyn’s achievement and would like to thank everyone who travelled up to Dublin to watch her claim her Irish title.

Ballynacargy Boxing Club has five boxers weighing in for the Leinster Championship in Drogheda next weekend: Eve Medforth, Síofra O’Halloran, Peter Scally, Thomas Flood and Jack Whyte. The club would like to wish them the best of luck.
