Nation to stop at 8pm to applaud frontline workers

The Dáil has agreed to interrupt its business at 8pm - irrespective of whatever item is being discussed at that time - to join in a national moment of applause for frontline workers at the vanguard of Ireland's #Covid19 response.

The public are being encouraged to come to their front doors, windows or balconies - observing all physical distancing - and stage a symbolic gesture of solidarity and support for the thousands of doctors, nurses, carers, and emergency chain workers working at the Covid-19 frontline.
