Councillor looks forward to end of "Civil War thinking"

Dear Editor, At the Labour Party conference last weekend Eamon Gilmore gave a wonderous speech. The amount of people in attendance was amazing. The new future of our country might well yet see a major shift away from old age divisional politics, away from borders and differences . Civil war thinking (far too long in existence) might soon come to an end.All our futures now require a new approach, a new sense of thinking, put the past behind and look together to positive new ways of thinking. The Labour philosophy is based on equality, people before profit, creation not cuts. Our policies present many new ways of tackling this potentially dangerous recession. No more ad hocery or sticky plaster management.I guess people will decide either to continue to support this failing government, because of practised behaviour or fundamental old age passed down belief, people"s decision could reshape our new country. The best educational belief and theories sees thinking outside the 'box' as a means of creating new jobs, thinking differently, forever searching for solutions, having respect for our elderly, seeing special needs people as a group that should always be cared for, nursing our sick in more comfortable conditions, training and engaging with our youth, providing facilities for them to use, never locking them out where lack of substance really becomes abuse.Facilities and volunteers are still available but often lie dormant awaiting a leader to open up the possibilities.A new way of thinking will not alone bury the myth of the celtic tiger but will harness the new found energies of a nation that knows too well about struggle, We will find a solution, but not from staid old ways of thinking, not from the FF the so called republican party,They have (without thinking or planning) laid us bare.Councillor Ger Corcoran.
