Local man beats snooker champ

Snooker legend Steve Davis along with the "Jester from Leicester" Mark Selby appeared in the annual Snooker Exhibition in aid of the Mullingar Carers Association.The two snooker champs met five snooker enthusiasts from St. Mary"s Snooker Club on Bishopsgate Street, including Patrick Lally, Richie Toll Davin Clarke, Keith Dunne and Steven von Beaumont who is just 14 years old.The night was played out in fun matches, but it was Patrick Lally who emerged victorious on the night, beating the six times world champion Davis on Saturday.It was a tense game for both men, but in the end, local man Paddy ground Davis down to take champion status.A good night was had by all and it was another success for the Carers Association.
