At the launch of the Mullingar Chamber of Commerce voucher scheme on Friday were, (from left) Cllr Ruth Illingworth, Tom Allen, Mullingar Credit Union; John Gartlan, Mullingar Chamber; Danny McLoughlin, Westmeath county manager; Pat Whelehan, chamber president; Ben Dolan, Denis Hogan, Harbour Place Shopping Centre; Helen Dolan and Joe Tracey.

There are many benefits to purchasing a Mullingar Shopping Voucher as a gift for someone special this Christmas: there is something for everyone as more than 100 businesses have already signed up to the scheme!

The use of the vouchers in Mullingar has generated €600,000 worth of business in the town, so the importance of shopping local cannot be underestimated.

Mullingar Chamber of Commerce launched its newly designed Mullingar Shopping Voucher at the Credit Union in the town last Friday lunchtime, when there was a special guest appearance from Ben Dolan and his wife Helen.

As the new voucher incorporates a watermark type image of Joe Dolan, it was only fitting that Ben was there, adding a unique Mullingar feel to the voucher.

Mullingar Shopping Vouchers can be presents, but they can also be bonuses to loyal staff members; buyers can choose from vouchers in convenient denominations of €10, €20 and €50.

Employers, employees and jobs all benefit when bonuses are paid using Mullingar Chamber Shopping Vouchers rather than through regular salaries.

Employees are rewarded with something they actually want and have the benefit of choosing where to spend at any of the scores of participating retailers. The company not only reaps the rewards of increased morale, productivity and loyalty, but due to the tax advantages of using the vouchers both parties also benefit from the savings.

Customers can just pop into the Chamber of Commerce offices in the centre of Mullingar, and buy as many vouchers as they require.

A growing number of retailers are now accepting the Mullingar Chamber Shopping Vouchers - a list of those participating is available at the Chamber office and online.

The vouchers are redeemable in hundreds of outlets throughout the Mullingar area, allowing buyers to choose where, when and how to spend them - retailers often offer special discounts when customers use the shopping vouchers.

Mullingar Chamber of Commerce shopping vouchers are the perfect gift idea, allowing you to treat family and friends while allowing them the freedom to choose where they purchase their gifts.

The Chamber message is: Shop Local - Support Local Employment - Shop Mullingar!
