Peacock goes on walkabout in Mullingar estate

The residents of a Mullingar estate got a shock last week when a peacock was spotted enjoying a lunchtime walkabout. The bird of paradise, which it transpired is owned by a nearby resident, escaped its coop last Monday and went for walk around the Green Park West estate on the Ballymahon road."I came home for lunch and was eating my sandwich when my neighbour knocked at the door," a resident told the Westmeath Examiner."I thought he was joking when he asked me if I had lost a peacock as there was one in my driveway a few minutes beforehand."The bird had moved into a neighbour's garden at that stage, but it certainly livened up my lunchtime, that's for sure.
