The Uisneach Music Festival, Destination Sport and Lakeside Wheelers are all to benefit from Fáilte Ireland’s funding spend of €537,000, announced today by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring.

The Uisneach Music Fest will receive €2,000, Destination Sport Mullingar another €2,000, while Lakeside Wheelers Cycling will get €1,000 in funding.

Minister Ring said 2013 had been a great success for Irish tourism with regional festivals playing a big part and he hoped this would continue throughout 2014.

“We want to build on the legacy of the Gathering and ensure 2014 is even more successful. The funding announced today will allow local communities to broaden their appeal to overseas visitors who will be able to experience everything from culture and sport, to festivals and fun.”
