Sadness as Chamber's John Humphries passes away

The death has occurred today (Saturday) of John Humphries, of Mullingar Chamber of Commerce, who was also current president of the Midlands Gateway Chamber.

Mr Humphries is survived by his wife, Debbie, and teenage daughter, Rebekkah.

A native of Scotland, Mr Humphries lived in Mullingar, having moved to Ireland thirteen years ago to take up a job with Intel.

He had worked with Mullingar Chamber of Commerce for the past two years.

A devoted family man, Mr Humphries was also a classic car enthusiast, and was a member of the Mullingar Classic Car Club.

Sadly, last year, he was diagnosed with cancer.

In March, just after turning 18, his daughter, Rebekkah, dyed her hair pink in aid of the Irish Cancer Society's "Shave or Dye" fundraising drive.

A gentleman, Mr Humphries was held in the highest esteem locally.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
