Westmeath's latest Soaring Star Dinah Loughlin in action against Dublin.

Dinahs star is soaring

Westmeath and Clonkill stalwart Dinah Loughlin has been named on the Camogie Association's Soaring Stars team for 2014.

The highly rated attacker, who was the player of the match in the 2012 All Ireland Junior Camogie Championship final, is the only Westmeath player named on this year's team. Former Lakeside winners include Pamela Greville (2011) and Denise McGrath (2013).

It's been a fruitful few weeks for Dinah, who last month fired Clonkill to glory in the Westmeath Junior Camogie Championship scoring 0-8 in the final against St Brigid's.

Congratulating Dinah on her achievement, the president of the Camogie Association, Westmeath's own Aileen Lawlor said:

"The Soaring Stars are a national acknowledgement of the skill, dedication and commitment demonstrated by our players as they represent their counties during the course of the season.
