Man arrested as garda seize cannabis plants worth 400000 in tyrrellspass

Gardaí have discovered 500 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €400,000 in a raid on a house in Tyrrellspass this morning.

One man in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained in Mullingar Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The scene is currently being technically examined.

According to a garda spokesperson, the find was made as part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Westmeath area.The search of the house, at Rathgarrett, Tyrrellspass, was made by gardaí from Mullingar.

Said the garda spokesperson:
