Mixed weather to prevail for the rest of the week

We've just said farewell to the longest day of the year and temperatures are not what you'd expect for the middle of June.

Met Éireann are predicting mixed weather throughout the rest of the week.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be generally dry and bright and rather warm too with the mercury rising to between 18 - 22 degrees.

Outbreaks of rain will arrive on Tuesday night according to the national forecaster, which will see some showers continue into Wednesday. There'll also be plenty of cloud around.

Temperatures will drop to the mid-teens on Thursday with scattered showers.

Friday will see rain fall in many places around the country.
