Teen thugs and bullying on agenda for Mullingar meeting

A public meeting is taking place in Mullingar this week over claims that young people are being targeted by teenage thugs in Mullingar town centre.
The meeting is to take place at The Newbury Hotel on Wednesday of this week at 7pm.
Cllr Andrew Duncan, who is organising the event, says he was prompted to do so after being informed of several cases of assaults on teenagers by contemporaries.
He hopes that parents of victims will attend this week’s meeting, at which there is also to be representation from An Garda Síochána.
“There is bullying going on in town,” Cllr Duncan said this week.
“What I’m hoping to do is get people affected to come in and give their views.
“I’m trying to determine the level of concern there is, and the level of bullying there is.”
