Gardaí seize ride on lawnmowers and cars believed stolen in Westmeath and Meath

Three ride-on lawnmowers, power tools, two cars, and a boat – all believed to have been stolen in burglaries in Westmeath or Meath – have been recovered by gardaí at a house in Oldcastle today, August 30.

According to a garda press release, as part of an on-going operation carried out under Operation Thor into organised crime in the Eastern Region, they searched a house in Rassilagh, Oldcastle.

During the course of the search Gardaí recovered the following, a 2015 Audi A5, 2010 Audi A4 Estate, a rigid inflatable boat and outboard motor, three ride on lawnmowers, a lawnmower and power tools.

The property is believed to have been stolen during burglaries in the mid-lands, particularly in counties Meath and Westmeath.

One man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is detained at Kells Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
