Springfield shooting under investigation by gardaí

Two shots were fired at the door of a house in Mullingar on Tuesday evening, gardaí have confirmed.

While there was damage to the door, there was no-one injured in the incident, which took place in the Springfield area of town some time between 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

Door to door enquiries are being carried out and CCTV footage examined in a bid to identify the culprits.

However, gardaí are also asking that anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the area around that time contact them.
