Ticket that shared €12.3m jackpot bought in Westmeath

Lotto jackpot of €12.3 million!

Winning tickets bought in Westmeath and Donegal

Two lucky winners from the midlands and the north west woke up multi-millionaires today (Sunday May 7) after sharing in Saturday’s bumper Lotto Jackpot of €12,344,809 million.

As well as the big Jackpot win, Saturday’s Lotto draws produced over 115,000 other prize winners, including four winners of the Lotto Match 5 + Bonus. They get €23,842 each.

The National Lottery revealed today that the two winning Jackpot tickets, worth €6,172,404 each, were sold in the Topaz Service Station, Dublin Road, Athlone, and Mickey Joe’s Country Store, Umlagh, Carrigart, County Donegal.

Both were from Quick Pick play. It is advising all its players to check their tickets to see if their numbers have come up.

The winning numbers are: 3, 7, 17, 21, 22 and 28. The Bonus number is 2.

Paula Keegan, store manager with Topaz Service Station, Dublin Road, Athlone, said they are thrilled to have sold the winning Quick Pick.

“This is the first time we have sold such a large winning ticket. This is a busy shop with lots of passing trade so while we would love if the winner was a local it is a possibility that the ticket was purchased by someone passing through.”

The mega jackpot almost matched the biggest Lotto win so far this year of €12.85 million won by a syndicate from Dublin on March 1.

The money has rolled over every week since then, and the amount raised for Good Causes in the period is an estimated €15 million.

Approximately one third of all National Lottery ticket sales go to the Good Causes Fund which benefits organisations and communities all over Ireland.
