ARA midlands' golf fundraiser

The annual Four Ball hosted by the Midland Region of Active Retirement and sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, Mullingar, takes place in Mullingar Golf Club on June 19 this year. It costs €160 for a team of four, which includes tea/coffee/scone on arrival and a three-course lunch on completion.

Former national president, Mai Quaid, will start proceedings by teeing off at 10.30am, accompanied by husband, Fran, and team-mates from Balltinglass Golf Club.

Members and friends of Midland Active Retirement associations and friends will be in hot pursuit.

This is an annual fundraising event for the Midland Region of Active Retirement Ireland (ARI) and to date it has been a successful and fun day.

It is open to the public and the organisers hope all golfers will support them on the day – something that would be greatly appreciated by the committee and members of ARI in the midland region.

ARI have 2,000 members in the midlands and organise outings, holidays, classes and other activities to keep senior members engaged and involved in their communities.

The competition will be sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, Mullingar and the committee express their thanks to Jonathan Acton, managing director, who will compete on the day and will be at hand to present the prizes.

Jonathan and Home Instead are a pleasure to work with always.

There will be prizes for teams that come in first, second and third places and a prize for longest drive and shot nearest the hole.

Des Skelly, chairperson of the Midlands Region Committee, said: “Everybody who attended the four ball last year thoroughly enjoyed it and people are looking forward to competing again on June 19.

“It is always enjoyable to get together and meet and chat with members and their friends on and off the course. Many thanks to Home Instead Senior care for their ongoing sponsorship of this event.”
