Security advice for Westmeath GAA fans

Westmeath GAA supporters intent on travelling to Croke Park on Sunday for the county's Leinster semi-final clash with the mighty Dubs are advised that under new security guidelines, they will not be permitted to bring backpacks or large bags into the grounds.

Management at Croke Park have announced that they have undertaken a review of their safety procedures with relevant authorities and have decided to ban ‘large bags’ and backpacks from being brought to the stadium from this Sunday, June 25.

Patrons will not be permitted to take large bags and backpacks into the stadium for all match day and concert events,” says a statement from the GAA today.

Smaller bags will be permitted but may be subject to searches and patrons are urged not to bring bags at all where possible.”
